Founded in 2023, Possible Occurrence is a conceptual art duo that activates multimedia forms with spontaneous creation. We are a duo composed of two female-identifying performers, Soleil and Camille. We are interested in the repossession of bodily autonomy through the process of collaborative performance. We are students of art, art history, and play. Soleil’s artistic background is in sculpture, Camille’s in dance vocabulary, and together we are interested in identity as a movement-based construct. We met in an experimental theater group which focused on devising and improvisation, though choreography and movement-based lexicons have become important to our work as we have developed. We are fascinated by the integration of archival processes into site-specific exploration; we consider the body a site of memory; we consider memory as a construct that can be determined by the present moment. Soleil is from Brooklyn, NY, and Camille is from San Diego, CA. We are currently students at Yale College.
